We are all customers. So as a discerning customer, I feel most satisfied with a consumer experience when I KNOW the person on the other end is taking care of me. You can feel sincerity through the phone and email. As a leader, I taught my staff to smile on the phone AND that it was okay not to know everything. As long as you assure your customer that you WILL find out the answers for them, they will feel that. Confidence isn’t knowing everything but making sure you get the answers to help your customer. There are many things that can cause delays and issues that affect customers, so it is important that the customer feels that you understand their sense of urgency and will do everything in your power to resolve the issues in as timely a manner as possible.
